Question: “My son is 18 months old and seems to be interested in the potty. He tells me when he has peed or pooped by patting his diaper. He will even go and get me a diaper to change him, however when he gets on the potty he will only sit there. Is there anyway I can get him to use the potty instead of just sitting there? Thanks!”
My 2.5 yr old daughter is fully #1 trained, but #2 is a different story. we have tried almost everything but i think she is just not noticing the poop feeling like she does for pee. any suggestions on what i could say or how i could talk to her to help her understand better? About 2 weeks ago she did really good for 4 days in a row. Im not sure if it was just because i was paying closer attention to her cues and sitting her on the potty with her TAG books. when she does go in her pants she comes running to me saying i gotta go poo poo i gotta go poo poo….so i think the feeling connection is just a little off…
My son wants nothing to do with the toilet! He had a work truck potty, but I had to throw it out because he just wanted to play with it & I thought by having a stool & the little seat on our regular toilet would be more useful & have him a bit more interested in using the big boy potty, but I’m wrong, I guess! He wants nothing to do with sitting on it or even to just stand there to tinkle. He refuses! I’ve tried regular big boy underwear, but he just pees all over my house. I’ve tried bribing him with stickers for his chart & even toys, but so far, its a no go. HELP! =)
Question: “I started early potty training with my son and now (14 month old)… He pretty consistently pees in the potty (when put on it and he has to go), and he is starting to ask to be put on the potty to pee… however he is refusing to poop in the potty.. even if we manage to put him on the potty in the process of pooping he will actually stop and get off the potty. any suggestions?”
Just released this week on potty training concepts, Little Dora Potty Chair!
Question: “My 2yo son will use his potty when he wants to, but not when he’s asked. He also likes to wear his big boy underwear…but doesn’t quite get that when he wears his big boy underwear that he needs to go potty in the potty chair. I think he’s so busy that it’s an interruption to go to the bathroom. I’ve tried setting the timer and taking him..sometimes he’s great about it and sometimes throws a fit. How do I get him to understand the concept? Maybe he’s just not physically ready? I’ve heard about “bottoms off” training and wondering if that’s what we need to try.”
